How it works

Household electricity prices vary more than threefold across Europe — from roughly €0.10 per kWh in subsidised Hungarian homes to about €0.40 in Germany, once taxes, levies and network charges are included. Knowing your consumption and unit price is the first step to cutting the bill.

Enter your monthly consumption and price per kWh — or pick a country to load its average household rate — and see your estimated monthly, yearly and daily costs. A typical two-person European flat uses 200–300 kWh per month; add an EV or electric heating and it can triple.

Electricity cost

MonthlyCost = kWh × PricePerKwh
YearlyCost = MonthlyCost × 12

Use the all-inclusive unit price from your bill (energy + network + taxes) for a realistic figure. Some contracts add a fixed monthly standing charge on top.
