Public holidays shape the rhythm of every European country’s year — and they differ a lot: Malta enjoys 14 national holidays while the UK and the Netherlands make do with far fewer. Knowing them matters for planning projects, trips, and those precious “bridge days” between a holiday and a weekend.

How movable holidays are computed

MovableHoliday = EasterSunday + offset
e.g. Good Friday = −2, Easter Monday = +1, Ascension = +39, Whit Monday = +50Fixed-date holidays (like New Year’s Day or national days) are stored per country; movable ones are derived from Easter for the selected year.
